  • Jags through to Cordiner Cup Final

The Jags cantered into the Cordiner Cup final with a 7-0 win over Eastern Rose last night, in the rearranged semi final meeting between the teams at Tain.

Stellar goalkeeping from Ian Ross kept Thistle at bay for the first twenty minutes before Cammy Mackintosh rifled a shot in off the far post to give his side the lead. Gordy Mackay made it 2-0 soon after after a botched clearance, and Chippie Mailley shot from distance to make it three. The rest of the goals arrived late in the second half, from Daniel Christie and all three substitutes - Dave MacIver, Ali Mackintosh and Roy Smillie.

Thistle now play Alness United in the final on Saturday June 17th in Inver.

    Team - J Allan, P Cowie (D MacIver), D Mackay, A Durrand, M Farquhar, C Mailley, C Mackintosh (A Mackintosh), L Rostock, D Christie, G Mackay (R Smillie), G Noble
