Thistle got back to winning ways with back to back victories this past week. They secured a 3-2 win over Invergordon Social Club in midweek thanks to goals from Alan Duff (2) and Cameron Mackintosh to make it six points from nine so far in the league campaign. Duff's winner came just after Social Club thought they had nicked a 90th minute leveller to snatch a point.

On Saturday, the Jags required a penalty shoot out to beat a persistent Balintore Welfare side, who held Thistle to a 3-3 draw after extra time. A penalty shoot-out followed and only three were required as the Jags cruised to a 3-1 win thanks to stellar goalkeeping from John Allan.

The Jags kicked off their defence of the Ross-shire Welfare League title with a 7-1 win over Eastern Rose on Wednesday night, sending them to the top of the league table on goal difference. Hat-tricks for both Darran Goller and Mark Lamont were complimented by a goal from Ali Mackintosh, who netted his first for the club. Post match, the Jags were presented with the Tain Silver Cup, which they win for the third consecutive year.

Thistle had to come to terms with defeat last Saturday, however, as a makeshift Jags eleven lost 6-2 to Fortrose & Rosemarkie Union, on the Black Isle's side turf. Without a recognised goalkeeper, Thistle succumbed to a 4-1 deficit at half time, and played the majority of the game with ten men due to a first half injury to debutant Robbie Murray, who has fractured his wrist. Dave MacIver and Gordy Mackay were the scorers for Tain.
