  • Tain and Balintore contest Jardine Memorial Quaich

    In a keenly contested friendly match this past Saturday, a Balintore XI beat a Tain XI by 7 goals to 3 for the Graham Jardine Memorial Quaich. Both teams were represented by a number of past and present players, most notably players who would have played with Graham during the late 1980s and early 1990s.<br /><br />Tain got the game underway with Graham's nephews, Robbie and Louis starting up front for the home side, kicking the game off before making way for Bob Swann and Sean Scott. Balintore chalked up a 3-0 half time lead before going on to secure a further four goals in the second period. Tain scored three times, through Kenny Johnstone, Dean Ross and Darran Goller.<br /><br />The Tain team was represented by Gordy Macinnes, John Allan, Hugh Taylor, James Rice, Bob Swann, Cammy Mackintosh, Shaun Mckenzie, Arnie Ross, Sean Scott, Dean Ross, Ali Mackenzie, Kenny Johnstone, Tony Farquhar, Ray Goller, Darran Goller, Daniel Christie, Marc Munro and Ryan Johnston. <br /><br />Post-match, the trophy was presented to John Skinner by Jim Jardine and his grandsons Louis and Robbie.<br /><br /><img width=95% src="http://www.tainthistle.co.uk/news/data/upimages/baltyquaich2015.jpg">
