As the North Caledonian League season comes to a close for Tain Thistle, early discussion of the club's Ross-shire Welfare League team begins.
The summer league is expected to have eight teams this year, with Dingwall and Alness introducing additional teams, to join six existing sides.
Last year's winners Black Rock Rovers will not compete, following their acceptance into the Amateur league. Inver, originally thought to be playing out of Portmahomack, look likely to play their season out of Inver again. Meanwhile, Thistle, Balintore, Sutor Inn and Invergordon Social Club all plan to enter teams again for the 2009 campaign.
Tain Thistle defender Scott Innes has been handed an immediate one match ban by the SFA disciplinary committee following his dismissal against Invergordon last Saturday.
Thistle captain Innes was adjudged to have deliberately handled the ball inside the area, preventing a goal scoring opportunity.
The decision brings an end to Innes's season and means he will miss the club's final game against Alness Utd.
