Social Club 1 Tain Thistle 4

The Jags are now just a point away from securing an historic 2nd league title in a row - a feat that will see them become the first team to do so in over 20 years.

Tonight, Thistle overcame a scare to record a 4-1 win in Invergordon. Goals from Alan Duff (free kick) and Chippie Mailley sent Thistle on their way with a 2-0 lead before Robert MacCormack pulled a goal back for Social Club.  It was late in the day before Mailley made it 3-1 and put the game beyond any doubt, and substitute David MacIver added a fourth to round the evening off.

As week 12 of the season is concluded, teams in the Ross-shire Welfare should have been about to draw a line under their league campaign, however, owing to severe downpours in recent weeks, there are still some games to be played. Thistle's remaining game is an away trip to Alness United - and the Jags need just one point from that game to secure the title.  The club await confirmation from the league of the date when this game will be played.
