Eight teams competed in the weekend's North Caledonian league fixtures. The game of the day was at Golspie, as the Sutherland side played host to title hopefuls Halkirk United. Alex Bone gave Golspie an early 1-0 lead before the Caithness side levelled through Colin Sinclair mid way through the first half. In the end, only an Adam Sutherland strike would seperate the sides; the Halkirk man making it 2-1 with three minutes to go.<br /><br />League leaders Thurso required a penalty to beat Invergordon in an unlikely result; Mark Nichol scoring the all important set piece in a narrow 1-0 victory at the Recreation Grounds.<br /><br />In other action, Dingwall Thistle got the better of Fort William by the odd goal in five at Claggan Park, while Ewan Dance added to his season's tally with a superb hat trick at Bonar Bridge, giving his Muir of Ord side a handsome 4-0 win.<br /><br />The complete results are as follows:<br /><br />Invergordon 0-1 Thurso<br />Bonar Bridge 0-4 Muir of Ord Rovers<br />Golspie Sutherland 1-2 Halkirk Utd<br />Fort William Res. 2-3 Dingwall Thistle<br /><br />Balintore and Tain Thistle were not scheduled to play.
